The Yankees will have two-thirds of the American League’s starting outfield in this year’s All-Star Game, with Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton taking the corner spots on either side of Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels.
It will be the first time the Yankees have had two starting outfielders in the All-Star Game since Dave Winfield and Rickey Henderson started for the A.L. in 1988.
The starting lineups for the game, which will be held on July 19 at Dodger Stadium, were announced by Major League Baseball on Friday. In addition to the Yankees sluggers, the local clubs will be represented well. Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani and Trout will represent the Angels as starters and outfielder Mookie Betts and shortstop Trea Turner of the Los Angeles Dodgers will both start for the N.L.
Notably absent are any starters from the Mets, who were two games behind the Dodgers for the best record in the N.L., through Friday, but will have to hope to have some players selected as reserves after Pete Alonso was beaten out by Paul Goldschmidt of the St. Louis Cardinals as the N.L.’s starting first baseman.

In addition to those 18 starters, Commissioner Rob Manfred named both Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals and Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers to their respective All-Star teams as legacy picks. Pujols said this will be his final season, while Cabrera may play another year.
The pitchers and reserve players for the game will be announced on Sunday. In addition to those selections, the N.L. will need to select a replacement for Harper, who will miss the game after having surgery on his thumb.
