At the beginning of the game, champions have a small amount of gold to buy items. To win League of Legends, players must be stronger and be able to destroy opposing champions and the Nexus. A player must earn gold to buy increasingly powerful items, making a champion’s stamina, abilities and attacks stronger. Gold is obtained in a variety of ways, including; Kill enemy players and minions, destroy buildings and defeat neutral mobs.
Competitive League of Legends is played on a single map called Summoner’s Rift. Each team is assigned a color (Blue or Red) that indicates which side of the map they must defend. The Blue Side Nexus is in the lower left and the Red Side Nexus is in the upper right.
